Regulations THE 3rd INTERNATIONAL ANDRZEJ KRZANOWSKI ACCORDION COMPETITION UNDER THE PATRONAGE OF BOGDAN ZDROJEWSKI – THE MINISTER OF CULTURE AND NATIONAL HERITAGE AND HONOURABLE PATRONAGE OF GRAŻYNA KRZANOWSKA Czechowice – Dziedzice September 29th to October 02nd, 2010 R U L E S A N D R E G U L A T I O N S 1. The Venue of the Competition Poland. Czechowice – Dziedzice (the hometown of Andrzej Krzanowski). The Competition will be part of The 20th Autumn Music Festival ALKAGRAN 2010. The competition auditions will take place in the hall of the Municipal Culture Centre. 2. The Jury acts pursuant to The Regulations of the Jury of the 3rd International Andrzej Krzanowski Accordion Competition. The decisions of the Jury are irrefutable, final and are not subject to appeals. 6. The Conditions of Participation The Competition is for accordionists of all nations born in 1980 or later. The Jury shall decide on the number of competitors admitted to the second stage. The conditions of participation: a) completing the Entry Form – Participation Card – on the following website: www.alkagran.pl and attaching a photograph (JPG format, min. resolution 640x480 pixels) until June 30th, 2010., b) paying the entry fee of 40 EUR or equivalent in PLN (NBP exchange rate on the date of transferring the money) to the following bank account: Miejski Dom Kultury, Czechowice – Dziedzice IBAN PL 84 1050 1256 1000 0001 0263 5281 BIC (SWIFT: INGBPLPW) ”konkurs” until July 20th, 2010 (after a confirmation of the conformity of the Entry Form by the Organizer) c) preparing a competition programme in compliance with the repertoire requirements d) signing in the Festival Office before the competition performance a declaration stating the participant’s approval of the competition rules in the regulations and an agreement to use and process personal particulars for promotional purposes, pursuant to the law of 29.08.1997 ‘Act on the Protection of Personal Data’ (Journal of Laws of 2002, #101 item 926) Only those fulfilling the requirements of the rules and regulations of the competition will be allowed to participate. 7. The repertoire requirements The competition programme may consist exclusively of a solo piece of music for accordion. 1st STAGE 1. Andrzej Krzanowski – Triptych, part 1 – Prelude, part 2 – Canon, part 3 – Postlude (Third Book for Accordion, PWM Edition, 1982), circa 10 minutes 2. a virtuoso piece of music at free option (transcription acceptable) 3. An original piece of music for accordion by a composer from the country from which the competitor comes from or which they represent. Total duration of appearance at the first stage maximum 30 minutes. 2nd STAGE 1. One or several pieces of music by Andrzej Krzanowski at free option (except Relief I). One or several parts of a cycle will be allowed. 2. A programme at free option consisting of one or several pieces of original accordion music. Music composed for accordion solo with the application of electronic technologies shall also be acceptable (in this case the Organizers provide only two-channel stereo sound). Total duration of appearance at the second stage: maximum 40 minutes. The programme may be performed from score. Two copies of the scores of the compositions performed must be presented (except for music by Andrzej Krzanowski). A list of the published compositions by Andrzej Krzanowski is available from www.alkagran.pl 8. The order of the competition performances. The participants will perform in the alphabetical order. Drawing the beginning letter will take place on July 31st, 2010; the participants shall be notified on the competition’s website in the Auditions timetable section. Drawing the letter beginning the second stage will take place after announcing the results of the first stage. 9. Awards Awards for the Laureates amount to 30,000 PLN 1st Prize 15.000 PLN 2nd Prize 10.000 PLN 3rd Prize 5.000 PLN In case of granting joint awards, he Organizers shall decide upon the amount of the prizes. Should none of the awards be granted, the Jury reserves the right to award additional prizes and distinctions. A special prize for the best interpretation of a composition by Andrzej Krzanowski can also be awarded. The awards are subject to taxation according to the current regulations. All participants will be presented with diplomas of participation. The winners will perform in the Laureates’ Concert. 10. Radio, television and archieves recording The Competition organisers reserve the right to record the auditions and publish them in the media. 11. The accommodation and board expenses. During the first stage the travel, accommodation and board costs are covered by the participants. The organisers cover the costs of hotel and board of the participants qualified to the second stage (2 days at a hotel, full board on October 02nd). 12.Dispute settlement. In case of disputes, the Polish language text of the Rules and Regulations shall prevail over any other.
